About Me 📚

a cartoon portrait of myself

➶♠ Anna | she/her | aroace ➶♠

Hey there!

I'm a self-taught artist with a degree in computer science, currently making my way in life as a software developer. I've been drawing and writing ever since I was a kid, with much of my work featuring aroace characters and their experiences (even before I knew that about myself, haha).

My artistic influences growing up came in the form of webcomics, as I didn't have access to monthly physical releases from the rarity that is comic book stores. Some of these webcomics - like Lackadaisy Cats and Slightly Damned - are still around to this day!

Pokemon fansites were my jam in the early 2000's, and I've always appreciated how much love goes into making an online space you can personalize to your heart's content. I've had my fair share of art accounts over the years, but with how hostile social media platforms have become towards artists, I decided that now was the time to make my own little "home" I can always rely on.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your stay!

My Plants 🌿

I may have a...growing...addiction to collecting house plants, but I can stop at any time, I swear!

Behold, the squad:

a picture of my plants and their names

I have no idea what species some of these plants are, but here are my best guesses:

  • WTAF or What The Actual Frick (Marble Peperomia): The problem child of the group. After failing to diversify its income stream for years, it is now a single, silly long stem growing right on the very edge of the pot. I recently gave it a roommate to cover up the gaping void of soil this plant refuses to fill.
  • Pinky (Polka Dot Plant): The newest addition to the crew, it was bought for me by Ryan on Valentine's Day! It is super cute, super pink, and didn't die after moving in with WTAF!
  • Ori (Orchid): This was another plant that Ryan bought, it had some very pretty flowers while they lasted. Its leaves have been growing like crazy since then.
  • Mabel (Marble Peperomia): A plant I bought to replace WTAF, which continues to live out of spite. I'll likely repot this one soon.
  • Jo (Jade Plant): The oldest plant here and an absolute beast, Jo was recently repotted since it is now way too massively huge for the bitty 4" pots.
  • Pepe Silvia (Teardrop Peperomia): This plant was my reward for completing all of the team activities at a company hackathon. Its leaves have a soft, velvety texture that I can't resist touching every once in a while. Would also like to repot this guy at some point!
  • Gone, But Not Forgotten: RIP Jimmy the cactus and a handful of other succulents. You are missed.
